So I havent put anything new up for a couple of days as I was “freshly pressed” on Thursday and was a little taken back so I spent a whole lot of time over the following days refreshing my stats in excitement like a right loser as the view counts went through the roof. However, like all things, that excitement had to some to an end, so today I’ve been busy sitting in the dark with a torch and my macro lens trying out a few ideas, here are a few abstract macro shots from todays shoot to see the weekend out. I’d never really given street photography a go before yesterday evening, but having recieved an email letting me know that there was going to be a “Meditation Flash Mob” to coincide with the International Day of Peace I thought I would give it a go since the subjects would be more sedate and less concious of my camera waving presence.
This particular “flashmob” was part of a wider community called MedMob who aim to “promote positive change in the world through silent meditation and sound bathing. MedMobs are meeting at various places throughout the city coordinated with cities around the world” with over 150 cities worldwide joining in to create an environment for people from all walks of life to come together in meditation.
This is one of the 1st HDR images I ever produced and out of all the images I’ve produced since, this one remains a firm favourite of mine.
I’ve been a long time collector of vinyl art toys, in particular toys designed by Jon Burgerman, so one boring afternoon I decided to try and take some interesting pictures of a few of the toys in my collection. Armed with a tripod, a black serving tray and a small LED torch, I locked myself away in the dark and this is what I came up with.
It was quite a fun little project and I was mostly happy with how the images came out, especially considering the lens used and my level of experience at the time. Follow the click through for a few more images from the shoot.
